Year 12 Textiles & Design Major Project
This dance costume was inspired from an Australian Green Grocer cicada; it is my best piece of creative work so far. I designed and made the costume to have as many cicada characteristics including the sheer veined wings and the repetitive abdomens. Attached to the wings are sheets of 0.05mm thin PVC, in order to let the wings of the cicada stand by itself while being worn and also giving the costume structure.
The National Gran Theatre, Beijing
The National Gran Theatre, Beijing
The theatre was built by Paul Andreu, known as the ‘egg floating on water’ it is located in Beijing, China, west of Tiananmen Square near the Forbidden City. Different from China’s traditional architecture, its glassy exterior was achieved by using titanium-accented glass. The title ‘egg’ was received due to the man-made lake that reflected the Theatre creating the illusion of the egg. It can seat 5,452 people in 3 separate halls. The very modern National Grand Theatre is contrasted againist the bright red walls of the ‘Great hall of the people’.

Photograph of something beautiful: Nightblooming cereus
This photograph of the Nightblooming cereus flower was taken in my backyard during a summer night. It is better known as the "Princess of the Night” and it has a very short life span. The flower only blooms once for one night, after it has bloomed its petals close forever. Its rarity makes it beautiful and stunning as the flower petals can expand to the size of your hand. It also disperses a sweet scent that gives my backyard a new aroma.
